sonder
n. the realization that each random passerby is living a life as vivid and complex as your own—populated with their own ambitions, friends, routines, worries and inherited craziness.
I love listening to people. In fact, when I was in middle school, I got called nosy - that's how much I tried to ease into peoples' conversations. But the fact of the matter was that I was intrigued by peoples' stories. I believe everyone has a story to tell and through my work, I wish to tell my own. In the short span of my life, I've been through trials and tribulations that made me the young woman I am today. These experiences, along with my thoughts and ideas, are what I want to put into my work to show others wisdom and insight. I want my work to evoke emotions from the audience; I want them to feel something, anything. Whether it be happy or sad, I want the viewer to recognize the consciousness of being alive. Not only would they feel, I want the audience to think and grow as an individual. I crave to capture the extraordinary in the mundane, the chaos in simplicity, and life's purest moments.
One of my favorite YouTubers is Casey Neistat. Not only are his videos creative and fresh, but the amount of work he puts into his videos is something to admire. He creates a vlog every single day and never ceases in putting dedication for his craft. Ideally, I hope to work in advertising or public relations, specifically with topics such as self love, positivity, and individuality. Life is too short. Simply put, I hope my work is made with love and passion that could soar from the moon and back, ricocheting its message through lightyears.
